PRP Platelet-Rich Plasma

Surgery to repair knee and ankle cartilage damaged and surgical treatment for shoulder instability are performed according to the most advanced techniques and using, when clinically indicated, a new medicl technology, the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), to promote healing of injured areas.

It is a very simple, but efficacious, procedure:

  • Firstly blood is drawn form a patient;
  • Then the platelets are separated from other blood cells and their concentration is increased during a process of centrifugation;
  • Finally the platelet gel obtained is carefully injected into the injured area so as to improve healing after surgery.
